Professor Fossen has been involved in editing several international geology journals, has authored over 90 scientific publications, and has written two books and several book chapters.
I used it this semester carefully and found it to be very informative.

Nov 19, Vixenkiba rated it it was amazing Shelves: Within weeks of purchasing this book, pages began to fall out and by half way throught the semester, the geolkgy was unuseable because nearly all of the pages had fallen from the binding.
Seldom have we seen such a user-friendly textbook. His research ranges from hard to soft rocks and includes studies of folds, shear zones, formation and collapse of the Caledonian Orogen, numerical modeling of deformation transpressionthe evolution of the North Sea rift, and studies of deformed sandstones in the western United States. The pages are colored, geklogy concepts while detailed aren’t overly expanded upon and the book comes with e-modules that assist introductory structural geologists with concepts that may be difficult to understand such as 3-D kinematic motion or deformation.
Nice to have bought this book!
